Bottle Cars

At the end of Term 3 Te Waka Ako faced a technology challenge to use: 

  • a plastic milk bottle
  • 4 plastic milk bottle lids
  • a wooden skewer
  • 3 plastic drinking straws
  • the use of a drill, tape and a hot glue gun
...to create a bottle car that moved down a ramp the greatest distance. Students visualised, planned, constructed, problem-solved and persevered to end up with their creations. Here are some of the end results (about to travel down one of our skateboard/scooter ramps).
