As part of learning about measurement we made some paper aeroplanes so we could measure how far we could throw them. It was great to see collaborative learning as students helped out one another, showing how to make a plane.
After they were all made, we went outside and took turns in groups to measure out metres across the courts. Then we took turns to throw the paper planes to see how far they would go.
We only had time for one throw each and some were a little unsuccessful (going behind rather than in front). The longest throws made it to nearly 9 metres - a tie between Sual and Paityn (and Nerys with 8 and a half metres).
Well done to everyone for giving it a go.
Hi team! Wow looks like you have been very busy. I love how you had to collaborate and work together for this task. It reminds me of when I did this with my class at Wesley but it was very windy so it didn’t work very well! What was the best design for making the planes go a long way? I’ve put some pictures on my travel blog at https://philandhistrip.blogspot.com
