Life's a Musical

We have been treated to a variety of music and movement lately from different people and places!

HIP HOP
For our regular PE this term, swimming has made way for Hip Hop. We have weekly sessions with instructors who are helping us to hear the beat of a rhythm and move in time to it. Here are Haumia 'cutting some shapes'...

JUMP JAM
We also have had a visit from the creator of Jump Jam, Brett Fairweather!  His mission statement is "to provide a quality, fun and exciting kids aerobics program to schools, that will motivate our children to enjoy exercise...", which he has been doing for the past 14 years. He certainly motivated our school this week. He complimented our school for having so may Jump Jam leaders and how great it was to see the whole school involved. Check out these photos...

AFRICAN DRUMMING
Last, but not least, was the chance to play some drums with the team from African Drumming Waikato. The type of drum we played was the djembe. We got to share them and play some different beats.
